This song is based on his feelings while spending Christmas
in the jungles of South Vietnam.

Where Christmas never seems to change.

 

I bet the trees all decorated

And Ol' Charley what’s his name

is still playing Santa there.

It’ doesn’t feel like Christmas,

Without the wreaths up on the doors
